Mindfulness Techniques

The key to navigating holiday stress this year lies in staying grounded. Here are some simple yet powerful techniques that I use and want to share with you:

Morning Gratitude Meditation

Spend at least 5 minutes each morning in silence, focusing on three things you’re grateful for. Let this set the tone for your day.

4-7-8 Breathing Exercise (this works!)

Inhale for 4 seconds, hold your breath for 7 seconds, and exhale slowly for 8 seconds. Repeat 3-5 times to calm your mind instantly.

Sensory Awareness Practice

When overwhelmed, pause and notice one thing you can see, hear, touch, taste, and smell. This practice anchors you in the present moment.


 

Time Management Strategies

Finding balance during the holidays doesn’t have to feel impossible. Try these strategies:

  • Set Priorities

    • Make a list of your most important commitments. Focus on what aligns with your values and let go of what doesn’t.

  • Plan Ahead

    • Use a calendar to schedule key tasks like shopping, meal prep, and family activities. Allocate specific time slots to prevent last-minute chaos.

  • Create “Me Time”

    • Block out 15-30 minutes daily just for yourself. Use this time to read, meditate, or simply rest.

    When holiday stress peaks, pause and ask yourself: “What truly matters in this moment?” This simple question can bring clarity and calm.
